Functional Interactomics Lab

Dr. Sudipto Saha is heading a Functional Interactomics Laboratory at Bose Institute, Kolkata. He has a specialization in Bioinformatics, Proteomics and Systems Biology. Presently, he works on peptides that mediate Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) and has published databases and novel computational methods to predict the interfaces of PPIs. His lab research focus is on identifying protein-protein interaction networks for understanding Biological Systems using Affinity Purification followed by Mass Spectrometry (AP-MS) and Yeast Two Hybrid based (Y2H) approaches. He also works on High-throughput and Extra-precision protein-ligand docking for predicting possible drug-like candidate(s) against novel protein targets of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and host specific lung cancer. Besides these, he works on ASTHMA Biomarkers using plasma proteomics (LC-MS/MS) and has a special interest in understanding lung disease biology.

Research Highlights
  • Discovery of linear motifs mediating Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs).
  • Discovery of asthma biomarkers from plasma using expression proteomics.
  • Identification of regulatory networks in pluripotent stem cells.
  • Identifying intra-species and host-pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis protein-protein interaction networks.
